Rowan Glen Renews Its Sponsorship Of Edinburgh Panto

Capital Theatres today announced the return of Rowan Glen, one of Scotland’s favourite dairy brands, as the official sponsor of the King’s Theatre Edinburgh pantomime. For the second year running, Rowan Glen supports Scotland’s biggest panto and will play a vital role in making Beauty and the Beast a show to remember.

Arts & Business Scotland will provide 50% match-funding of Rowan Glen’s sponsorship through their Culture & Business Fund Scotland (CBFS), which aims to encourage active collaboration between businesses and the cultural sector.

Beauty and the Beast unites dame Allan Stewart and resident villain Grant Stott in their 15th King’s Edinburgh panto together. Their unique onstage chemistry and the dedicated Edinburgh audiences who come back year after year to see them have made the King’s pantomime the most successful in Scotland and one of the highest grossing pantomimes in the UK.

Commenting on the partnership between the King’s Edinburgh panto and one of Scotland’s leading brands, Danny Cairney from Rowan Glen said:

“The pantomime brings so much enjoyment to families from across the country and we are proud that Rowan Glen will play a starring role, for the second year running, in what is a much-anticipated annual highlight for many. This wonderful explosion of festive fun never fails to put a smile on everyone’s face and we’re very excited to be part of this year’s magical journey of enchantment in one of the most loved fairy tales of all time, Beauty and the Beast.”

Duncan Hendry, Chief Executive of Capital Theatres, added:

“We’re delighted to have Rowan Glen on board as sponsors again this year. The ongoing support means we can build on our successes to make it an even bigger show this year. We're also very grateful for the support from Arts & Business Scotland’s CBFS, which helps us develop the relationship with Rowan Glen.”

The CBFS funding will enhance Rowan Glen’s sponsorship by providing additional promotional opportunities and supporting the King’s Theatre’s wider family performances, as well as providing 500 tickets to the Panto for looked after children.

Head of Programmes at Arts & Business Scotland Carl Watt commented:

“Following their hugely successful sponsorship of Cinderella last year, it’s great to see Rowan Glen returning for a second year to sponsor this year’s King’s Theatre Edinburgh pantomime, Beauty and the Beast. One thing that we’re particularly keen to encourage through the Culture & Business Fund Scotland is ongoing partnership between businesses and cultural organisations that continues over a sustained period of time. The fact that Rowan Glen has decided to continue its partnership with the King’s Theatre for a second year demonstrates the significant benefits that have been delivered for both partners. I’m sure this year’s pantomime will prove to be equally successful and will continue to deliver real and measurable benefits for all concerned.”

Located on the edge of Dumfries and Galloway National Park, Rowan Glen uses the freshest, locally sourced Scottish milk, to produce a wide range of great tasting yogurts and yogurt drinks. The brand also extends to a great tasting range of cheeses, butter, spreads and desserts.

Beauty and the Beast opens on Saturday 1 December 2018 and runs until Sunday 20 January 2019.
