Dale Farm to reward milk quality at Balmoral
Dale Farm ready to reward cream of the crop at Balmoral
The Dale Farm Milk Quality Improvement Awards, sponsored by Ulster Bank, are making a return to the Balmoral Show this year, with six winners across three categories set to be recognised as the cream of the crop.
The awards will measure improvement in milk fat and protein levels over a three-year period, with winners being announced and presented at the show on Thursday 12th May.
Chairman of Dale Farm Fred Allen said: “Our cooperative is owned by hardworking, talented dairy farmers who put their all into their farms year on year. By focusing on improving milk quality, they are building a more sustainable, profitable and successful business and by being part of the Dale Farm cooperative, they are also helping us create the very best consumer dairy products.
“I am particularly glad to be presenting these awards in person once again at the Balmoral Show alongside our valued sponsor, Ulster Bank,” Fred Allen said.
Cormac McKervey, Agricultural Manager, Ulster Bank, sponsors of the awards added: “We are proud to once again be supporting these awards, which reflect the quality of milk throughout Dale Farm’s network of dairy farmers. We have been longstanding sponsors of the Dale Farm Awards at Balmoral and I am always impressed by the level of expertise and commitment to quality displayed.”
The Dale Farm Milk Quality Improvement Awards will feature three categories – ‘over one million litres’, ‘under one million litres’ and ‘new entrant’. There will be one winner and one runner up prize awarded in each category, with a total shared prize fund of £1,500.
