Dale Farm Protein Milk TQ10K Unveils Titanic Race Medal

Designed to celebrate the 11th year of the race, the Dale Farm Protein Milk TQ10K has revealed a new medal design for its 2017 event on Sunday 9th April. The specially commissioned ‘Titanic’ medal will be presented to each participant who completes the 10k route.

Following in the footsteps of last year’s run, 2017 is proving to be as popular with runners from Northern Ireland, and beyond, with over 1000 runners already registered and preparing to take to the road on race day.

City of Lisburn athlete, Zoe Carruthers, joined Claire Cuthbertson of Dale Farm to launch the 2017 medal. Taking in local views of the Harland and Wolff Cranes, HMS Caroline, and Europe’s Leading Visitor Attraction 2016, Titanic Belfast – the medal comes together in an antique stop watch design.

The launch was also an opportunity to announce Dale Farm’s sponsorship of the 2017 road race.

Dale Farm Head of Marketing, Caroline Martin, added:

“Dale Farm is delighted to announce its sponsorship of this year’s race. As the producer of the UK’s first fresh protein milk, Dale Farm continues to support both professional athletes and sports enthusiasts through events such as this.

Providing 25g of protein per 500ml serving, Dale Farm Protein Milk is ideal for those aiming to increase their protein intake quickly and conveniently both pre and post workout with 50% more natural milk protein than regular milk. We look forward to this year’s runners enjoying our supply of Dale Farm Protein Milk on race day.”

Looking ahead to the race, NI Athlete, Zoe Carruthers, said:

“Titanic Quarter’s reputation as a major sporting venue is growing all the time. This year’s finishers’ medal, which also celebrates the 11th anniversary of the race, looks great and is a fantastic memento for all competitors.”

Pamela Brown, President of Athletics Northern Ireland, states:

“We are proud of how the event has progressed, and now with Dale Farm Protein Milk as our new sponsor it is only set to get better. Notably one of the best 10K runs in Northern Ireland, I believe the commemorative medal for each participant finishing the race will make the event even more special. The resurgence of road running and the development of the Titanic Quarter have gone hand in hand with each other. I am very much looking forward to what has become one of the must-take-part events of the year in athletics, and a true festival of road running.

Road running has shown tremendous growth over the last few years, with races such as this having played a vital part in the growth. There are few sports that welcome the Elite, Club or Recreational sports enthusiast to compete on an equal footing in the pursuit of their individual goal.”
