What is your role and what does a normal day look like for you?
As the HR Business Partner, my role is primarily to provide specialist HR support and guidance to our sites and business functions that I work alongside. As cliché as it sounds, it’s hard to describe a typical day as each day is different! I’m responsible for working with managers to ensure teams are properly resourced through recruiting the right people for the right roles, building capabilities within teams to future proof valuable skillsets through workforce planning, and advising on any complex ER issues that arise.
Beyond the day to day, I am responsible for delivering on key people projects, analysing data and working towards achieving our team KPIs, and making sure I stay on top of developing legislative requirements. I have recently taken over being our HR System lead so currently trying to learn that is a personal priority!
What do you enjoy most about your role at Dale Farm?
An area of interest for me is people analytics, this is where I hope to grow my capabilities over the next few months. That’s probably one of the things I enjoy most about Dale Farm – it’s a very supportive company in terms of training and development in line with your personal goals!
How did you get to where you are today?
Back when I did my Business Management degree at QUB, I did my placement year with Dale Farm. I was grateful to then be brought back as a Graduate and over the last 5 years have continuously built my skillset and knowledge as an HR Business Partner. I previously completed my CIPD Associate Qualification in People Management, which has helped me along the way too. Overall, I think the key thing to making it in any career is having a talented and supportive team around you to challenge you and to learn from, and that I certainly do!
