What is your role and what does a normal day look like for you?
My role is General Manager of Dromona Creamery and Mullins Ice Cream sites. A typical day is quite varied but fundamentally consists of overseeing the two operations and managing the business aspects of both sites. I would have a strong focus daily around engagement with my team and a successful day for me is that everyone on site is safe and we have produced good quality products.
What do you enjoy most about your role at Dale Farm?
The best part of my role within Dale Farm is the fantastic people I work along with and learn from everyday particularly since moving into my new role this year incorporating the Dromona site. Also, Dale Farm provide great opportunities across the whole business for people to develop and grow.
How did you get to where you are today?
I started working as an Operator in Mullins over 33 years ago and worked across various roles before becoming Production Manager. During this period, I trained part time at Loughry College in various food related courses and to this day put myself forward for any new learnings or opportunities for development. The years of experience in managing people and all the situations that this brings has been invaluable in getting to where I am today.
