Assistant Production Manager

Dale Farm provides brilliant opportunities and programmes for individuals to develop in their professional skills and knowledge.

What does a day in your role look like?

In my role as Assistant Production Manager at Dromona, I am a member of the Butter and Spreads production and planning teams, taking responsibility for delivering best in class manufacturing performance. I support the Production Manager in overseeing and coordinating all aspects of production process, as well as liaising with the planning function to schedule and plan production runs, monitoring quality of production, ensuring safe operational and technical standards are met. No two days are the same, as I am also responsible for reviewing and being involved in training and development of production staff, as well as assisting production and technical managers in audit preparations.

How did you get to where you are today?

In 2021, I graduated with a BSc Hons Food Design and Nutrition from The College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE). From there I started working in Dale Farm Pennybridge as a Microbiology Laboratory Technician. During November 2022, an opportunity came up as Production Coordinator in Dromona, and in April 2024, I was promoted to my current position as Assistant Production Manager. I have been working with Dale Farm for four years and I have gained invaluable knowledge, skills and experience.

What do you enjoy most about your role and working at Dale Farm?

I enjoy working as part of a strong collaborative team where cross functional working is part of the daily norm - people are willing to help each other when needed. Dale Farm also provides brilliant opportunities and programmes for individuals to develop in their professional skills and knowledge.
